All you need is the McAfee app from your device’s official app store and the same account credentials you used during your McAfee subscription activation online.
Follow these steps to activate McAfee on your Android device. Android 10 or later is required.

Open the Google Play Store

On your Android device, tap the Google Play Store icon. Make sure you are connected to Wi-Fi or mobile data before proceeding.

Search for McAfee Security and install

In the Play Store search bar, type McAfee Security and tap the search icon. Select the official app published by McAfee, LLC and tap Install. Wait for the download and installation to complete.

Open the app and tap 'Sign In'

Once installed, tap Open to launch the McAfee Security app. On the welcome screen, tap Sign In — do not tap “Get Started” or “Free Trial,” as that would create a new free account instead of linking your existing paid subscription.

Enter your McAfee account credentials

Type the email address and password for the McAfee account you used when you activated your subscription at mcafee.com/activate. Tap Sign In to continue.

Your subscription is recognized automatically

McAfee will detect your active subscription and apply all features included in your plan — antivirus scanning, VPN, identity alerts, and Scam Detector. You do not need to enter a product key again. Your Android device is now fully protected.
McAfee Mobile Security is included as part of the McAfee+ Premium Individual, McAfee+ Advanced Individual, McAfee+ Ultimate, and McAfee Total Protection plans. The McAfee Essential plan supports up to 5 devices total — mobile devices count toward that limit. Upgrade to a McAfee+ plan for unlimited device coverage.
If the McAfee app does not recognize your subscription after signing in, try the following:
  1. Sign out of the McAfee app (go to Settings → Sign Out).
  2. Force-close the app completely.
  3. Reopen the app and sign back in with the same credentials.
  4. If the problem persists, visit support.mcafee.com or use the in-app chat to reach McAfee support directly.

If you have already activated a qualifying plan at mcafee.com/activate, mobile protection is included at no additional charge.
