How to Enable and Check Your Firewall

Verify that McAfee Firewall is active and properly configured by following these steps:

Open McAfee Security Center

Launch the McAfee app from your taskbar, system tray, or application menu. The Security Center dashboard gives you a full overview of your protection status.

Navigate to Firewall settings

From the left-hand navigation panel, select Firewall. The Firewall overview screen shows you the current status — confirm it reads On and displays a green indicator.

Review and adjust Trust Level

Under Firewall settings, locate the Trust Level option. Set it to Standard for home networks and Public (stricter) for shared or open Wi-Fi environments.
